AAA has long supported state “Move Over” laws, which require drivers to slow down and move over for emergency responders on the roadside, yet each year there continue to be an alarming number of fatalities reported due to motorists failing to slow down and change lanes for roadside work and distressed vehicles. One hot summer’s day, B & B Wrecker Service of Pecos and Big Sky Towing of Odessa came together at the town of Monahans (population ~ 6,953), right off of route number 20, to perform a recovery operation on a crane that had overturned there. Cranes being an indispensable component of the oil and gas economy in Western Texas, it was very important to get this one back up and running.
