East Coast Truck & Trailer Sales grieves the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Dan Short. Dan shared 11 years with us as a member of our sales team. His jovial personality brought light to our office daily and his commitment to customer satisfaction set precedent. His mentorship helped those around him recognize their potential and grow as professionals.
Dan was a family man who loved his children and grandbabies. He was great company and a very talented musician who played in many local bands as well as his church band. He was a left-handed base player and when you heard him play his music it was something you never forgot, he was so very talented. Dan loved a good meal, but he liked it prepared correctly and if his food order was not correct, he certainly would let someone know. And more often than not, they were sure to mess his order up yet would continue to give them business.
Dan was always willing to lend a helping hand to his co-workers and he always knew just how to put a smile on your face every day. His dry sense of humor always gave us a good chuckle. He is one of those of whom it can truly be said that he made the world a better place, for those of us who were lucky enough to know him.
Our workplace will not be the same without him here, we are going to miss his seeing his face every day and his since of humor that would catch you off guard and put a smile on your face just when you needed it.
Robert brings with him over 40 years of experience in the field of Industrial and Commercial sales. He has had vast experiences, from working for small firms to a Fortune 500 company. This gives him a unique understanding, from the owner/operator perspective, whether it is a one truck operation or a large multiple truck fleet owner. His degree in accounting and finance gives Robert a solution-oriented approach making sure that his customers get the right equipment, tailored to their specific needs and expectations. With over a decade of experience as an Operations Manager in the towing and transport industry, Scott is uniquely qualified to provide you with the right Auto Hauler and/or Wrecker-Rollback equipment you need. Scott has managed a local wrecker service that provides services for the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), Virginia State Police (VSP), Request Per Police (RPP’s), auto auctions, garages and car dealerships. With his proven experience in the industry, Scott understands the importance of owning the best equipment to get the job done right. In addition to his industry experience, Scott did earn his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Regent University – Virginia Beach in 2010. His educational background further equips him to better understand the big picture of all his clients. Scott’s number one priority at East Coast Truck & Trailer Sales is to create a positive customer experience through every sale. He does this by providing his clients with a “can do” attitude, sharp listening skills, and a strong dedication to customer service. Scott loves his role at East Coast Truck & Trailer Sales. When not hard at work for his customers, Scott enjoys spending quality time with his wife of 20 years and their five boys and daughter ages 19-2. Scott spends most of his free time watching and supporting his children as they compete locally in track, basketball and wrestling. James Alexander has been in the towing and automotive industry for over 20 years, with experience in everything from medium and heavy trucks to light duty wreckers and rollbacks. James has truly experienced all aspects of towing and has towed vehicles and equipment all over the country. With his in-depth product knowledge and sensible advice James is dedicated to building the right truck for the right job. He is focused on tailoring every sale to the client’s needs and expectations. He aims to exceed and honors his trustworthy customer relations. In addition to his professional sales background James has proudly served in the Coast Guard. In his spare time he enjoys going hunting and fishing. We are very excited to have James on our team at East Coast Truck & Trailer Sales! I am a native of Maryland, grew up in Damascus. I received my certificate in Automotive Technology from Gwinett Tech in Georgia. After finishing school, I came back home to work on a large commercial fleet as a master mechanic and shop manager. After 18 years of turning wrenches, I was ready for a new challenge. Over five years ago a sales opportunity came along in the towing and recovery market and I never looked back. The combination of sales experience and in-depth mechanical knowledge I can give my customers is a winning combination. I love getting my hands dirty and learning as much as possible about all of the equipment available on the market. This guarantees that I can recommend to my customers the products that will best fit their needs. I am WreckMaster certified and am always looking for new opportunities to expand my working knowledge of the towing and recovery industry to better serve my clients. I am involved in Maryland’s TRPM group, and an outspoken advocate for the towing industry. I am excited about the partnership between Jerr Dan and East Coast Truck & Trailer Sales. This combination is a great fit, and I look forward to expanding our sales area and serving the customers of the mid-Atlantic region of Maryland, Delaware, and Northern Virginia.
Danny comes to ECTTS with over 50 years of industry experience. His career starts with a driver’s job with the original Henry’s Wrecker Service. Along the way, Danny has held several positions, both state and national, with TRAA, VATRO and TRPM. He served as Vice Chairman of the TRAA Education Foundation. In addition, he was an original Trustee of the Association. As Vice Chairman, Danny was involved in the writing of the first study guide and test for Level 1 Certification. His design of the Level 1 Patch is still in use today. Danny is an Honorary Level 3 Heavy Recovery Specialist. Danny has taught towing and recovery classes nationwide through Ross Kinman Programs. He was an instructor at No VA Community College (NVCC) in areas of towing and recovery, CDL Preparation Course, DOT Compliance, and VA DMV Certified Truck Defensive Driving Course. He has published numerous safety articles in major towing and recovery publications. He supervised the production of safety videos for a major manufacturer. Danny is recognized as an industry expert in State and Federal courts. As a previous business owner in the towing industry, there is not much Danny hasn’t seen or doesn’t know! In 2018, he was inducted into the International Towing & Recovery Hall of Fame (HOF 328), an honor that he and his family are proud of. He resides in Northern Virginia with his wife, Tonya.
With over 25 years of experience in the field of Industrial & Commercial Sales, Daniel Boschelli has had the pleasure of working with people at many levels. He’s owned and operated his own businesses as well as consulting with architects on major projects. The foundation for much of his success has come from being an owner of a Lock & Safe business, and a Towing & Transport Company. Upon moving to Virginia from Florida he went back into the hardware & door business where he worked for some of the biggest names in the industry. Unfortunately, in late 2017, the company he was working for underwent a nationwide reduction in force, and his position was eliminated. Never one to give up, he made it his passion to continue to provide customers with quality service. DJ is now a valued member of the Wrecker & Rollback Sales Team at East Coast Truck & Trailer Sales. Outside of work, DJ is a member of the Patriot Guard Riders.
Jason Riggins is new to sales but has extensive experience with rollback and wreckers. Close to a decade of operating tow trucks and years of customer service professionalism. Jason has 3 years of DOT long distance driving and loves to share his stories about being on the road. He is very knowledgeable about the rules and regulations of the highways. Jason can be very helpful and provide you with great knowledge. Jason in his free time enjoys producing music and creating cinematography videos. Attended the Governor’s Magnets School for the arts for visual art and instrumental and music and has worked with well known musicians. He takes pride in his travels to 37 states.
